I have been painting since I was a child. One of my favourite family photographs is me aged 4 finger painting
(already left-handed) in the garden and taking a step back to look covered in paint.

In some ways little has changed in that I still like to spend lots of time contemplating and playing with the beauty in front of me before I start. Now my paintings take longer to complete though.

To me medicine is an art, and my art requires the technical skill and dedication that is integral to medicine. Similarly my paintings are of three different themes: flowers , landscapes and abstracts. Each one is important to me and helps me to be able to express myself whatever my mood.

I have never made a production line of painting and concentrate on producing a smaller quantity of paintings that I love and that I have put something special into.
